Trends: change over time instead of a single result

A single measurement is only a snapshot. GeoRank follows how your AI visibility changes over time — at the level of score, mention, position and Share of Voice.

A snapshot does not show direction

"You were mentioned just now" does not say whether the situation is improving or worsening. That needs repeated, comparable measurement.

  • Fluctuation

AI answers change over time; a single measurement does not show the tendency.

  • Delayed effect

The effect of content and source changes does not appear immediately.

  • Decisions need direction

It is worth deciding on improvements only when the direction of change is visible.

Definition

A trend is the comparison over time of data measured repeatedly with the same methodology. GeoRank shows the change of the AI Visibility Score, the mention rate, the position and the Share of Voice; the trend comes from aggregated measurement data, not from an estimate.

What does GeoRank show?

You can follow the change on several levels.

  • Score trend

The change of the AI Visibility Score period by period.

  • Mention trend

How the mention rate develops over time.

  • Position trend

The change of the average position.

  • Share of Voice trend

How your share of the mentions develops relative to competitor mentions.

How is a trend produced?

A trend needs at least two periods measured with the same methodology.

  1. Repeated measurement

Measurement runs weekly or adaptively, depending on the plan.

  2. Periods

Successful measurements are organised into periods.

  3. Comparison

Comparing the periods shows the direction of change.

Why is it useful?

The trend shows whether your work produced a measurable change.

  • Direction

It shows whether the situation is improving or worsening.

  • Feedback

The effect of a change can be measured in the next period.

  • Not an estimate

The trend comes from measured data, not from a modelled forecast.

Frequently asked questions

The most common questions with short, factual answers.

How often does measurement happen?

Measurement is weekly or adaptive depending on the plan; more important questions are measured more often and less important ones less frequently.

Why is a single measurement not enough?

A single measurement is only a snapshot. A trend needs several periods measured with the same methodology, otherwise real change cannot be distinguished from fluctuation.

Is the trend a forecast?

No. GeoRank shows the comparison of measurements that have already happened; it does not predict a future AI position.
